Cinema – Documentary (discontinued)
The former UFSC Cinema Division played a key role in the revival of film production in Santa Catarina, which began in the late 1980s.
For more than two decades, the Arts and Culture Department (DAC) supported the production of short films that became part of Santa Catarina’s contemporary film scene. During this period, DAC established itself as one of the state’s leading institutions in audiovisual production and, until recently, hosted the Associação Cultural Cinemateca Catarinense (Santa Catarina Film Library Cultural Association) and the Fundo Municipal de Cinema (Municipal Film Fund). Together with these organizations and the Government of the State of Santa Catarina, DAC signed a cooperation agreement to foster the development of the audiovisual sector.
Recognizing that public access to these productions is essential to the continued development of regional filmmaking, DAC also brought these films to schools and municipalities through the Cinema na Comunidade (Cinema in the Community) Project.
DAC’s Cinema Division has supported projects in the areas of film production, exhibition and education.
A Cor da Nossa Tela [The Color of our Canvas]
A Cor da Nossa Tela is a television series created and directed by filmmaker Zeca Nunes Pires for TV UFSC. The series portrays visual artists whose work is closely connected to the city of Florianópolis.
The episodes are available on TV UFSC (Channel 15 on NET and Channel 63.1 on digital television) and on YouTube.
