Office of Culture and Arts (SeCArte)

The Festival Internacional de Teatro de Animação (International Puppet Theater Festival -FITA) was first held in Florianópolis in 2007. FITA aims to bring puppet and object theatre to a wider audience while encouraging artists to explore this art form, which encompasses puppets, masks, shadow theatre, objects and other forms of visual performance.

With a program designed for audiences of all ages and backgrounds, the Festival features performances and educational activities. Each year, FITA is presented either as a full festival or through selected initiatives, such as the Mostra de Rua (Street Showcase), held in 2021, which brought performances to theaters, schools, public squares and streets throughout the city.

The Festival is organized by the Fazendo Fita Art Company and funded by the Municipality of Florianópolis, with institutional support from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), through its Office of Culture and Arts (SeCArte) and the Center for Communication and Expression (CCE).
